cutie for death cab

yeah i was the cutie for the cab of death.
this event put me in awe.

i bought the tickets for us.
we prepared by painting shirts.
we drove the 45 minutes.
sat in our more than fantastic seats anticipating.
frighten rabbit opened.
and:

my very ears beheld the sound, the real live music. notes and all. shaking my bones, racking my soul.
the band that has penetrated my ipod for the past 8 years was playing in the same room as me.
they even played my favorite song. we looked like giants.

for more pictures and a different perspective go here.

here is a funny snippet from the concert: during the encore ben gibbard played transatlanticism. as he moved his fingers up and down the keyboard i was put into a daydream. if you know the song you then know that the lyric " i need you so much closer" is repeated several times. as i continued to daydream during this repetition i imagined ben standing and walking through the crowd to me. as this vision consumed me i was brought to real life when mr gibbard actually stood up from the piano. my stomach dropped probably 4500 feet ( which is how high we are up in altitude, so it technically dropped to sea level). i was convinced that he was going to look straight up at me and jump off the stage and into my arms. but i was wrong. he had stood up to play his guitar.....

a girl can dream right?
